The much-awaited announcement has been made by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad, the Chairman of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee, confirming the sighting of the Dhul-Hijjah moon in Pakistan. Reports flooded in from cities like Lahore and Islamabad, with clear weather aiding the visibility. With this sighting, the holy month of Dhul-Hijjah is set to commence tomorrow, leading up to the grand celebration of Eid-ul-Adha on June 29, Thursday.
To ensure the accuracy of the moon sighting, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee organized a significant meeting in Karachi, overseen by Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad and attended by representatives from various departments. Their collaborative efforts concluded with the official declaration of the Dhul-Hijjah moon sighting. While the Meteorological Department had predicted favorable conditions for visibility due to the moon's age at sunset, there was a slight possibility of partly cloudy weather in certain areas.
It is worth mentioning that the moon of Dhul-Hijjah was also sighted in Saudi Arabia, coinciding with the scheduled Hajj pilgrimage on June 27. In Saudi Arabia, the festivities of Eid-ul-Adha will be observed on Wednesday, June 28. Stay tuned for the forthcoming joyous celebrations and embrace the spirit of this auspicious occasion.
